You’ve had those amazing restaurant salads, topped with crunchy, fresh sprouts. And then you buy your own in the grocery store for $8, but it’s a tiny container, and they just don’t taste the same…they’re just…blah.
Fear not, my green goddesses: sprouting at home is so ridiculously easy.
I bought some seeds, some mason jars, and some sprouting lids (I didn’t even know these existed, but they work like gangbusters), and followed the easy-peasy directions. Five days later, I had a huge pile of fresh, delicious sprouts.
Did my family ask me what the science project on the counter was? Yes. But the ridicule was worth my beautiful little harvest. If you want ever-ready sprouts, set up a few jars on subsequent days, and they’ll be ready all the time. There is no down side.
Hint: This little sprout kit also makes a fantastic gift for your healthy-aspiring friends.
Give sprouting a try, and let me know how it goes at your house!
