Have you seen those glossy ads for that pricey European anti-aging body oil floating around on your feed lately? (Or is my algorithm just exposing my obsession with good skin?) Either way, I was intrigued — because of course I was. This tiny bottle promised to make my skin look half its age. Obviously that sounded too good to be true. But I wondered: could I make my own anti-aging body oil for half the price?
Turns out, yes — and it’s divine.
I looked up the ingredients, did a little kitchen chemistry, and whipped up my own DIY anti-aging body oil that smells amazing and is deeply hydrating. Magic? Doubtful. Effective? Absolutely.
And for the cost of one of their 4-ounce bottles, I made 16 ounces of my own homemade body oil. I kept some for myself, and gifted a couple of bottles. If you’re into DIY beauty or looking for a holiday gift idea, this one’s a keeper.
Ingredients for Your Homemade Anti-Aging Body Oil
You’ll need high-quality carrier and essential oils. These are my go-tos (and yes, they all smell amazing):
- 4 oz Vitamin E oil
Amazon link → - 4 oz Rosehip oil
Revive Rosehip Oil → - 4 oz Sweet Almond oil
Revive Sweet Almond Oil → - 4 oz Evening Primrose oil
Revive Evening Primrose Oil → - 10 ml Geranium essential oil
Revive Geranium → - 10 ml Lavender essential oil
Revive Lavender → - 30 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil (or Patchouli if that’s more your vibe)
Ylang Ylang →
Patchouli → - 16 oz glass pump bottle
Amazon bottle →
Pour all the carrier oils and essential oils into your 16-ounce glass bottle. Give it a gentle swirl (no shaking — it’s not a martini). The oils blend beautifully, and your bathroom will smell like a spa. Store it in a cool, dark spot, and your body oil will last for several months.
If you’re a fan of DIY holiday gifts, divide your batch into smaller bottles — like these glass bottles on Amazon — tie on a cute ribbon, and voila, you’ve got a thoughtful, affordable, and luxurious gift for anyone who loves natural self-care.
